Role: UX Designer
Responsibilities: Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.
Brief: Design a WhatsApp feature for users to create events effortlessly, share details with contacts and receive prompt RSVPs.
Tool: Adobe XD
Overview
I'm a member of a WhatsApp group with over 80 participants, dedicated to coordinating events like parties, cinema outings and days out. However, managing upcoming events and gauging attendees became challenging due to the reluctance of many to respond within a large group and the simultaneous organisation of numerous events.
Idea generation
The prototype showcases how users can create, respond to and view events - akin to Facebook's 'Events Page' feature. This functionality facilitates event coordination within extensive WhatsApp groups, offering simplified event creation and organisation, response facilitation, and day-of reminders.
